“After a few years of dabbling in yoga, I took one of Dawn's classes in late 2009 after I had been injured in an accident. Little did I know, yoga can be life-changing, both physically and mentally, and Dawn's teachings really opened that up to me. Dawn's knowledge, kindness, openness to every student's needs, and her dedication to creating a thoughtful practice make her one-of-a-kind. She is a gift to the yoga community and I'm grateful to have her in my life.” - E.D.G.
During our practice, we begin slow, soft, and small. You will listen, notice, and repeat. Strength and engagement gradually sneak up on you (in a helpful way). This arc of practice includes moments of buoyancy and returns to the earth. Support is both offered and received.
The alchemy of breath and movement offered a soothing and intoxicating effect that further revealed the diversity in yoga practices. I began to see how my breath was intimately showing me what my mind and heart were telling me. It’s this curiosity and intimacy that I bring to the breath in a yoga class.
It can be easy to fall in love with the movement of yoga. Each asana practice is a study of movement, flow, and breath. The classroom is a laboratory to be present with movement and stillness; can you also learn to love The Pause?
Learning to focus and see into your mind and heart can happen during seated meditation, and you can find meditative contemplation in other pursuits and activities. What activities and practices help you find connection and clarity in your life on and off your mat?
