My own experience as a student in two local retreats has inspired me to offer such an opportunity to students. I invite you to share in the revelation these retreats offered to me in a blog post I wrote in February 2015.
My research lead me to many local options, but I finally found the perfect one. In Santa Margarita (north of San Luis Obisbo) sits a small, rustic and elegant yoga retreat center run by a local family.
Scott & Eva have been hosting yoga retreats for 10 years, and they offer the perfect environment for students to unplug and practice with a small group.
Flowing from Winter into Spring
When looking at the solar and lunar cycles of the year, early March has us experiencing the later notes of winter and we start to see promise of spring’s light and warmth. This is a beautiful time to honor the introspection and turning inward that is such an important part of our winter hibernation.
By honoring this turning inward, we also recognize that seeds planted during this time offer great potential when watered with creativity and patience. This spring weekend retreat is designed to offer you the opportunity to dive deep into a conscious yoga practice. We will honor gentle, persistent, mindful practice as we build tapas (discipline), movement, heat, and vigor to help us transition from winter to spring with balance and grace.
Classes will offer many elements of the yoga practice (asana, pranayama, meditation, etc) in longer sessions designed to journey inward. Please come with a sense of curiosity and willingness to explore. Some yoga experience is recommended, although all levels are welcome. There will also be opportunity to rest, hike, write, read, and visit with friends.
