The Seeds of a Meditation Practice
Approximately four years ago, I attended a retreat at Esalen Institute with Tias Little. During this retreat and in the daily meditations, the seeds of meditation that had been tucked under the surface began to sprout. I returned home from this retreat feeling inspired to sit every morning.
That November, I began in the cold, dark mornings and sat quietly for 20 minutes. The passages and guidance from Tias and Prajna Yoga were my support and encouragement. Today, I am so grateful for my daily practice as it unfolds and blossoms.
Turning Inward: A Prajna Yoga Meditation Offering
I'm honored to have been asked to offer a guided meditation as part of a beautiful gift from the Prajna Yoga community of teachers. From December 1st through 31st you will receive a FREE guided meditation by a different Prajna Yoga teacher each day to offer a moment of stillness and pause to your day.
These recorded meditations will be 15-20 minutes in length and will offer you support as you explore a daily sitting practice. Each day's meditation will be available for 24 hours, and you are invited and encouraged to set aside time each day. During the holidays, this could be a way to de-stress and slow down every day.
The Prajna Yoga teachings are simple and beautiful. You are not expected to "stop your mind" -- Instead, you are invited to slow down, notice the flow of your breath, observe your mind and thoughts, and notice what arises as you turn inward. In each unique offering, teachers will share inspiring passages, offer guidance through relaxation techniques, and give space for The Pause.
I encourage you to share this with friends and family. No yoga or meditation experience is needed. All are welcome to participate in this free event.
(p.s. the schedule was just released, and mine will be shared on December 12th. Surya's will be Dec 21st, and Tias' will be Dec 31st)
