My own experience as a student in three local retreats has inspired me to offer such an opportunity to students. I invite you to share in the revelation these retreats offered to me in a blog post I wrote in February 2015.
My research lead me to many local options, but last year's exceptional experience at Sagrada Wellness made it obvious that we would return again this year. Scott & Eva have been hosting yoga retreats for 10 years, and they offer the perfect environment for students to unplug and practice with a small group.
I think you'll enjoy the fresh, nourishing meals they prepare and enjoy the small details that make this place so special.
Deepen the Heart of Practice
When exploring the heart of practice, it is important to remember that yoga is a process of self-awareness and self-discovery. As we dive into the workings of the body, we are able to experience and become more aware of how the physical body is intricately woven with the workings of the breath, mind, and heart. In this retreat, we will explore the heart of practice and its many facets.
As we turn inward and peel back the layers of self-inquiry we learn more of our own truth and how to live that truth. I can't and won't promise easy answers or quick transformation, but I hope to share what has inspired me and assisted me in this journey toward self-awareness.
This retreat is designed to bring yoga practitioners together in a way that they can explore both alone and in community.
You will have the opportunity to inquire into the heart of your practice, to explore the core (both physically and metaphorically), and to immerse in practice for a full weekend free of work, routine, and day-to-day distractions.
Classes will offer many elements of the yoga practice in longer sessions designed to dive deep. Asana practice will be paced out so that there are times to challenge and times to soak in and nourish. Expect seated meditation sessions that gradually build in length, and periods of group silence during the weekend.
Please come with a sense of curiosity and willingness to explore. Previous yoga experience is recommended, although all levels are welcome.
There will also be opportunity to eat delicious meals, rest, hike, swim, write, read, and visit with friends.
