Gathering Together
Yoga practice has invited me to gather together in various ways over the years. There have been seasons of my practice that involve gathering with other people in nourishing and supportive ways. At other times, gathering seems to happen under my skin with tissues, nerve pulsations, and bodily sensations. At other times, the ways that I gather are more subtle and oriented in my heart and mind. Recently, the ways that we gather involve our home spaces, pets, and technology that spans the distance between the west coast and the east coast.
As I reflect on all the ways gathering together has changed, I am excited to offer a special opportunity to practice yoga together in a studio in Santa Cruz.
What to Expect
This 2-hour class will explore some of the ways that we might gather our presence in yoga by using both soft and strong methods.
The class will begin with a series of sliding and gliding movements known as SATYA as you gather your attention to that which is small, subtle, and curious. These movements will gradually lead to a series of yoga poses that gather what is strong and steady with mindful attention.
Space is limited, so please register early to confirm a spot. You are invited to join us at 11th Hour Coffee after class for an informal visit.
